素以山水甲天下著称的名城桂林,1992年11月1日至6日又以绚丽的人文景观令人瞩目。由中国电影家协会、广西壮族自治区人民政府主办,桂林市人民政府承办的首届中国金鸡百花电影节群星荟萃,与山水争辉,是电影界的一次大团聚、大交流、大庆典。对于加快中国电影事业改革开放的步伐,丰富人民群众文化生活,都有重要意义。
