Urinary tract infections are common in women in the sexually active age group. These patients require a full clinical and bacteriological assessment prior to the use of antimicrobial therapy and reasonable measures for urinary tract studies. Recurrent frequent urination, dysuria, women in the sexually active age group are often encountered clinical problems. Most of them have urinary tract infections (UTIs). About half of these women have bacterial infections in the urinary tract when symptomatic. Although only one of these patients developed urinary tract aseptic episodes of urinary tract symptoms, bacteriuria later became bacteriuria. The vast majority of women with recurrent lower urinary tract symptoms and bacteriuria frequently had normal urinary tract tests and no progressive renal insufficiency. However, these episodes are both inconvenient and uncomfortable for both the patient and her family.
