扎西今年29岁,从西藏大学美术专业毕业后,他和朋友一起来到扎什伦布寺的刚坚家具厂,当上了画师。这个家具厂在80年代由十世班禅大师创建,收入主要用于寺院建筑的修缮和僧侣的日常生活改善。扎西的大哥以前在家具厂当工人,那时他就来玩过,和工人们同吃同住,有时候也因为好奇而帮助他们在家具上描描画画。他喜欢这样的生活方式,因为这很快乐。很难说不是因为这个缘由,他后来报考了西藏大学的艺术专业。 扎西是拉萨人,大学期间,和所有的艺术系学生一样,扎西很热爱现代绘画,但同时他也对藏族传统绘画迷恋不已。那些精美的唐卡画和寺院金碧辉煌的壁画给他的大学时代带了无穷的乐趣,他从这些画中似乎嗅到了一股先祖们日常生活的味道。这种感觉和他的想象力如此契合,常常引领着他不自觉地沉湎在画面中。 “来这里以前,我也在拉萨的画廊中卖过画,收入其实挺不错。
Tashi, 29, graduated from Tibet University with a major in Fine Arts. He and his friends came to the Kien Keng Furniture Factory in Tashilhunpo Monastery to become an artist. The furniture factory was founded in the 1980s by the tenth Panchen Lama and is mainly used for repairing monasteries and for improving the daily lives of monks. Tashi’s brother used to work as a worker in a furniture factory, when he came to play and live with the workers, sometimes drawing curiosity about the furniture. He likes this way of life, because it is very happy. It is hard to say that it was not for this reason that he later enrolled in the art major at Tibet University. Tashi is a Lhasa person. During his university years, like all art students, Tashi loved modern painting. At the same time, he was infatuated with Tibetan traditional painting. The exquisite Thangka paintings and monumental magnificent frescoes have given his college days a great deal of fun, from which he seems to smell an ancestral taste of everyday life. This feeling, in line with his imagination, often leads him unconsciously into the picture. "Before I came here, I also sold paintings in Lhasa’s gallery, and the income was really good.
