This is a real seal sent from the Foster station in the German Democratic Republic of Germany, which is more valuable than the usual Antarctic seal (Figure 1). On the top right of the envelope is a “Foster Station” stamp issued by the German Democratic Republic and a Foster Station memorial postmark. The central stamp was a statue of Forrester with the words “Democratic Germany Antarctic Station” in the first half of the circle; the text in the second half was “George Foster”; the middle date was 10 am, May 25, 1990. Seal to the left for the Antarctic map, penguin and Foster station diagram, Antarctic map in the text: geomagnetic; the bottom of the text: Democratic Germany 1989-1991 Antarctic expedition. The envelope is marked with a commemorative stamp below and below it, with the bird’s eye view of Antarctica and the radio waves sent from Forster station.
