光绪四年八月初三(1878年8月30日),福建福州士绅与群众强拆并火烧教会在乌石山之建筑物,共毁坏新建洋楼三座,另有一座旧洋楼受损。这就是发生于晚清的乌石山教案,笔者根据中外文档案资料、福州市地方志以及时人的评论与著作,试图从风水、灾害与谣言、士绅的抗体反应、宽容条款下的民教冲突、清朝官方的默许与支持、大英帝国与安立甘教会的利益冲突等方面浅析乌石山教案发生的原因。一、风水、灾害与谣言
