Acer’s Extensa 712TE and Compaq Computer Corp.’s Armada 6500 are the first 300MHz Pentium II notebooks introduced last month. They were evaluated by ZD Labs. The Acer Extensa 712TE is cheaper than the other 300MHz Pentium II notebooks tested by ZD Labs. Because it integrates a floppy drive and a CD-ROM drive space, it is more suitable for most users to carry. Compaq Armada6500, which is previously the HiNote Ultra 2000 DEC company, made only a few improvements to the system. Its battery life is longer than the other Compaq notebooks we’ve tested, including the recently introduced Armada 3500. Acer’s Extensa 712TE design is reasonable
