OBJECTIVE: To observe the anti-cerebral anoxia effect of Phyllanthus emblica L. and its effect on serum anti-oxidant substances after simulated exercise in mice at low altitude under high altitude. Methods: The decapitation method and intraperitoneal injection of sodium nitrite method were used to determine the effect of Phyllanthus Emblica L. on the survival time in mice with cerebral ischemia and hypoxia. The mice were subjected to the swimming load-bearing swimming test The serum lactic acid (LD) content was determined at different time after swimming by swimming test. The time-independent swimming test was used to determine the serum levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH- Px) activity, as well as nitric oxide (NO) and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels. RESULTS: Compared with the blank control group, the survival time of the mice in the amiloride group was significantly prolonged (P <0.05 or P <0.01) by decapitation and intraperitoneal injection of sodium nitrite. Compared with the low-pressure blank control group, (P <0.01). The area under the curve of low-pressure swimming serum lactate was significantly decreased (P <0.05 or P <0.01). After swimming for a time, the serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) , Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) activity increased significantly (P <0.01), MDA content decreased significantly (P <0.01), nitric oxide (NO) P <0.01). Conclusion: Phyllanthus emblica has a significant cerebral protective effect on cerebral hypoxic mice and enhances the anti-oxidative function of the body after exercise under low pressure.
