本文编译了美国蒙塞托公司的Fowler先生在1984年第七届、1986年第八届日本召开的国际声发射会议上发表的两篇论文的主要内容。该两篇文章是Fowler先生多年从事声发射(AE)工作的经验总结。文中回顾了化工容器声发射检测的发展历史,讨论现场检测方法、评价标准。同时给出了几个现场应用的实例。AE检测与其他无损检测方法的对比结果表明,超声复检缺陷结果与声发射检测出缺陷源结果符合较好,具有一定的实用价值。
This paper compiled the main contents of two papers published by Fowler of the Montseto Company in the Seventh International Conference on Acoustic Emission in 1984, the Eighth Conference in 1986 in Japan. These two articles summarize Mr. Fowler’s many years working in Acoustic Emissions (AE). The paper reviewed the history of the development of acoustic emission testing of chemical containers, and discussed on-site testing methods and evaluation criteria. At the same time gives several examples of field applications. The results of comparison between AE and other nondestructive testing methods show that the result of ultrasonic recheck defect is in good agreement with the result of acoustic emission to detect the defect source and has certain practical value.
