江苏无锡市鼋头渚是中外著名的旅游胜地。近年来由于各方面的努力,公害污染相对减轻,自然生物种群保存良好。滨湖山峦连绵,绿林繁茂,是鸟类栖息繁育的良好场所,为许多候鸟、旅鸟南迁北徙必经之途。通过鸟类资源调查,常见的60多种鸟类中,大部份是取食害虫的。为了充分保护利用鸟类资源,开展“以鸟治虫”的生物防治。我园自1979年起,已连继3年挂置人工鸟巢箱300只。人工鸟巢箱系采用山雀式(内径规格为22×10×10立方厘米),巢箱口为园口式和半开口式两种。悬挂高度为4—6米。现每公
