The renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAA) is closely related to the pathogenesis of hypertension. Angiotensin II (ATII) is the most active vasoconstrictor known in the body. It also promotes the secretion of aldosterone by the adrenal cortical zone resulting in sodium and water retention. Both of these effects raise blood pressure. In 1976, Ondetti et al first synthesized oral effective vasoconstriction
