耳闻邓维东先生是在十年前,那时他还在新疆师范大学美术系任教。我的同事——新疆青年画家李冬是他的学生,可能是自小喜欢画画的缘故,我同李冬很亲近,喜欢看他画画。李冬谈起老师邓维东先生,眼里尽是尊敬和佩服。由此邓先生给我留下了深刻印象。真正认识邓先生是在不久前,受命主持新疆画报社工作后,我自然想到了美术界,想到了已是新疆美协掌门人、第二代新疆本地艺术家的佼佼者的邓维东先生。从规模宏大的“中国画·画中国”走进新疆,到全疆各地画院
Mr. Deng Weidong heard about ten years ago, when he was still teaching in Xinjiang Normal University Art Department. My colleague, Li Dong, a young Xinjiang painter, is a student of his own. She may have liked drawing since childhood. I was very close to Li Dong and liked to see him draw pictures. Li Dong talked about Mr. Deng Weidong teacher, his eyes full respect and admiration. Which Mr. Deng left a deep impression on me. I really came to understand the fact that Mr. Deng was appointed not long ago to take charge of the work of the Xinjiang Pictorial Press.
