1983年隆冬腊月,35岁的韩志雄被任命为浙江省国营宁波钢铁厂厂长。这个有近千名职工的中型轧钢厂,直到党的十一届三中全会以后,才摘掉亏损帽子。韩志雄,紧紧依靠党委和全厂职工,使生产一年迈出了一大步。同时,韩志雄在改革、开放、搞活的新形势下,保持了清醒的头脑。他牢记自己不但是一厂之长,而首先是一名中国共产党党员,是人民的公仆。在处理企业与国家、个人与群众、压力与动力这些关系问题上,他表现了一个共产党员的高尚品格。
In the 1983 winter twelfth lunar month, Han Zhixiong, 35, was appointed as the director of the state-owned Ningbo Iron and Steel Plant in Zhejiang Province. This medium-sized rolling mill with nearly 1,000 employees did not take out the loss caps until the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Party Congress. Han Zhixiong, relying closely on party committees and all factory workers, made a big step in production. At the same time, Han Zhixiong maintained a clear head in the new situation of reform, opening up, and invigoration. He kept in mind that he was not only the director of a plant, but first of all a member of the Chinese Communist Party and a public servant of the people. In dealing with the relations between the enterprises and the country, individuals and the masses, and stress and motivation, he demonstrated the noble character of a communist party member.
