Objective To investigate the expression of fibroblast growth factor-2 (FGF-2) in umbilical cord blood in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) pregnant women and macrosomia. Methods A total of 120 singleton pregnant women who were seized and delivered in our hospital from October 2015 to April 2016 were collected and divided into GDM group and non-GDM group according to the results of 75 g OGTT at 24 to 28 weeks, with 60 cases in each group According to the newborn’s weight, the rats were divided into GDM normal weight group, GDM giant group, non-GDM normal weight group and non-GDM giant group, 30 cases in each group. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to determine the level of FGF-2 in each group. Results The level of FGF-2 in cord blood of GDM group was significantly higher than that of non-GDM group (P <0.05). The content of FGF-2 in cord blood of GDM group was significantly lower than that of non-GDM group (P <0.05) The blood level of FGF-2 (6 851.33 ± 3 946.23) pg / ml was less than that of normal GDM children (7 795.79 ± 3 979.61) pg / ml, but there was no significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05) The levels of FGF-2 in umbilical cord blood of GDM macrosomia group (2 877.13 ± 2 059.97) pg / ml were significantly lower than those of non-GDM normal group (4779.12 ± 216.21) pg / ml (P <0.05). Conclusion The expression of FGF-2 in cord blood of GDM group is significantly higher than that of non-GDM group. The expression of FGF-2 in cord blood of GDM group is less than that of non-GDM group.
