Sponsored by the Institute of Sediment, the first clay academic conference was sponsored by China Geological Society, China Soil Society, Jingdezhen Association of Science and Silicate Society. From October 29, 1981 to November 4, 1981, in the porcelain capital of Jingdezhen Held. The meeting originally planned to have 100 official representatives and the number of participants required to attend the meeting greatly exceeded, resulting in an increase of nearly 100 delegates.
