Statistical methods have been used for many years in all fields of material science and technology research, especially fatigue and fracture problems, and more often than not, because they are well known to be fatigue and fracture as a random process of materials. Statistical studies of fatigue and fracture are an active area of research for the Japan Society of Materials Society Fatigue (JSMS). Currently, one of the achievements in this field is the compilation of two kinds of data based on the fatigue properties of metallic materials: one is Fatigue strength, the other is the spread of fatigue fracture, which includes more than 2,300 different metal fatigue data and 900 sets of fracture growth rate data.
