马克思主义创始人马克思和恩格斯,他们的中译名何时在中国出现,以后又怎样演变成我们今天谈到的统一的中译名的,这关系到马克思主义在中国的传播问题。马克思的中译名已有文章作了介绍,这里就恩格斯的中译名作些考证,并以时间为序列表如下: (一)昂格斯:1898年夏天,传教士李提摩太为配合当时中国戊戌变法的需要,委托胡贻谷将英人克卡朴的《社会主义史》一书译成中文,以《泰西民法志》为书名,交上海“广学会”出版。
