丰台桥梁工厂用离心法制造混凝土管桩,已有近三十年的历史。1966—1970年间,经过试验研究,将普通混凝土管桩发展成为预应力混凝土管桩,在技术和经济方面向前迈进了一步。用预应力混凝土桩大量代替普通混凝土桩和钢桩,经济效果是很明显的。例如,目前正在制造的一批预应力混凝土管桩,任务量为40万米,如果使用钢管桩,估计要多用3万余吨钢材,用普通离心混凝土管桩,也要多用钢材1万余吨。此外,预应力混凝土桩的某些技术性能也是很优越的,受弯时的抗裂性和打桩时的抗打击性,比普通混凝土桩好,在恶劣环境中的抗腐蚀性比钢桩强。
