湖南省洞口县半江水电站院内,有一口清亮清亮的泉井,人们叫它“贺仙井”。提起“贺仙井”,还有一段有趣的传说,很久很久以前,有一条孽龙搅浑了半江水,使饮用半江水的人个个中毒染病。一天,贺老真仙到此,剪除了孽龙,並点穴为井,赐仙水普救黎民。人们就把这个井取名“贺仙井”,並修建了贺仙桥、贺仙庵,还塑造了贺仙像。从那时起,每逢初一、十五,来此敬仙取水的人就络绎不绝,沿袭至今,愈演愈烈,每日成百上千。对此,《中国青年报》一九八四年发表了《死灰在这里复燃》的长篇通讯,批评迷信复古。可是来取水的人依然有增无减,去年八月中秋多到四千多人。人们为什么对这股井水如此迷信呢?原来,确曾有人饮此水后冶好了多年顽症:洞口县北田村农民向清德,身患胃病、便秘,久治无效,去年停医改饮贺仙井水,很快恢复了健康。绥宁县桃坪乡阳光村妇女
