Objective To observe the changes of Th17 cells in patients with primary liver cancer before and after gamma knife treatment. Methods Forty-three patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma (GCC) treated with Gamma Knife were selected as the study group. Forty-three healthy subjects were selected as normal control group. Flow cytometry was used to detect CD3 + T cells, CD4 + T cells, CD8 + T Cell, Th17 cell level and CD4 + / CD8 + ratio. Results The ratios of CD3 + T cells, CD4 + T cells and CD4 + / CD8 + of patients with primary liver cancer were significantly lower than those of the control group (P <0.05). CD8 + T cells and Th17 cells were higher than those of the control group (P <0.05), respectively. One month after radiotherapy, the ratio of CD3 + T cells, CD4 + T cells and CD4 + / CD8 + increased compared with that before treatment, while the proportion of CD8 + T cells and Th17 cells decreased. The difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusions Patients with primary liver cancer are immunosuppressed. Gamma knife treatment can reduce the level of Th17 cells in peripheral blood, regulate the balance of T cell subsets and enhance the immune function.
