我们县位于广西西南部,是广西48个贫困县之一。总人口33万多人,全县分4镇12乡,有145个行政村和1308个自然屯。有医疗卫生机构168处,其中县级医疗卫生单位7个,乡、镇卫生院16处,村卫生所145个。有卫生技术人员962人。1984年以前,全县工农业年总产值仅8200多万元,国民人均收入仅253元,由于经济基础差,每年用于卫生事业的经费投资仅占财政支出的4.3％。卫生事业发展缓慢,全县传染病发病率高达2243/10万,新法接生率仅达86％,孕产妇的死亡率高达
