首届全国海洋知识夏令营在2008年举办,当年刚刚发生了汶川大地震,因此,营员大部分来自于四川省,全体营员和老师们,不惧路途遥远,不辞车马辛劳,从四川到北京,从北京到上海,从上海到南通;从山区、内陆到平原,最后来到黄海之滨,领略到了我国海川的壮美,切身体会到了海洋的宽广和博大。自2008年开始,全国海洋知识夏令营作为国家海洋局提高青少年海洋意识的专项活动长期开展下去,这项活动对动员全社会关注海洋、善待海洋、保护海洋起到积极的作用。
