喀左县梅素呔大队第一生产队,1981年在坡耕地上搞了50亩埋水蓄墒田。从3月末至7月初,100多天未降雨,周围地段绝收,而埋墒种植的玉米,由于水肥集中,长势很好,平均亩产达500斤(净产1,000斤)。 抗旱埋墒种植的具体做法是,每10条垄为一个循环,在一个循环中头5条垄全部甩掉,6、7条垄合并,挖成竹节壕式种植坑,第8条垄甩掉,9、10两条垄合并,也挖成种植坑。每亩挖300个种植坑,每坑种8棵玉米(见图)。
