When dealing with complex sulphide ore, it is of great economic significance to recover precious metals symbiotic with sulphides. Due to the selective flotation of pyrite in zinc-lead-copper ores, a significant proportion of the gold and silver symbiotic with pyrite enters the tailings. To this end, examined the other treatment methods. The ore is first leached with a solution of ferric sulfate, followed by a flotation separation of the various solid components suspended. This method involves the generation of zinc sulphate solution; conversion of galena to insoluble lead sulphate (PbSO 4) and its accumulation in non-buoyant parts together with precipitated goethite (FeOOH) and other insoluble gangue minerals; In the separation of sulfur and undissolved sulfide. A laboratory study of pyrite deposits in the Delta region of Alaska showed that almost all of gold and silver are concentrated in the floatable fraction. After leaching with ferric sulphate, the total recovery of zinc in the ore reached 96.5% to 98.5%. During the leaching of ferric sulphate and subsequent ferric chloride, the copper extracted from the ore is about 85% and about 6% of the copper remains in the non-floating part as well as in the mixed part of the leaching-flotation stage. When the float part is leached with calcium chloride solution, the extraction rate of lead reaches 98% to 99%. Leaching the floatable part with ferric chloride solution, the silver extraction rate of 98%. When leachable from a floatable part with cyanide or thiourea, the extraction rate of gold reaches 71% to 89%. The article describes the results of laboratory research.
