塔的出现,已经有数千年的历史了。最早出现在印度的“塔”,并不像我们现在到处可以看到的那些高耸、挺拔、直插云天的建筑物,它实际是一些粗陋的巨大坟头,那里埋藏着佛祖的舍利。世界上许多国家保存着很多有名的古塔,大多与当地的宗教和民俗有关,如埃及的金字塔、墨西哥的月亮金字塔和太阳金字塔、缅甸的大金塔等。中国的古塔,数以千计,历史悠久,种类繁多,其中许多堪称佳作。
The appearance of the tower has been for thousands of years. The earliest appearance of the “tower” in India is not like the towering, tallest, straight-lined buildings that we can now see everywhere. It is actually a rough and huge graves, where Buddha’s relics are buried. Many countries in the world have preserved many famous ancient pagodas. Most of them are related to local religions and folk customs, such as the pyramids of Egypt, the pyramids of the moon and the pyramids of the sun in Mexico, and the Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar. There are thousands of ancient pagodas in China. They have a long history and a wide range of varieties. Many of them are excellent works.
