赵紫阳同志在政府工作报告中指出:“过去,扩大再生产主要靠建设新厂,……今后扩大再生产必须主要靠技术改造,充分发挥现有企业的作用。”这段话涉及到扩大再生产的源泉问题。为了更好地理解和贯彻这一方针,我们有必要进一步在理论上来探讨一下积累究竟是不是扩大再生产的唯一源泉这个问题。学术界长期以来存在着“唯一源泉论”和“非唯一源泉论”两种观点。我坚持的是后者。现仅就以下几点谈谈自己的看法。

In the future, expanding reproduction must mainly rely on technological transformation and give full play to the role of existing enterprises.” This passage relates to expanding the source of reproduction problem. In order to better understand and implement this guideline, it is necessary for us to further probe in theory whether the accumulation is the only source of expanding reproduction. For a long time, academia has two kinds of views: “the only source theory” and “non-unique source theory.” I insist the latter. Now just talk about their own views on the following points.
