编辑工作具有“中介性质”,这已是当今人们的共识。不论从大众传播角度讲编辑“过滤与广传”的职能;还是从新闻出版角度定义编辑:“是指新闻出版机构从事组织、审读、编选、加工、整理稿件等工作,是定稿付印前的重要环节”或“编辑工作是整个出版工作的中心环节”,究其内涵,都相当明确地肯定了编辑工作的“中介性质”。然而,对编辑工作这一“中介性质”的哲学、社会学基础及其宏观理论意义,则缺少更深入一步的研究。基于此,本文试图从社会学角度,探讨编辑作为社会角色其角色位置的“中介性”特征。笔者认为,编辑工作的“中介性质”,主要是由其社会位置的“中介性”决定和带来
