Professor Li Chunyu was formally established in 1950 in Sichuan Movement Department, referring to a crustal movement between the Cretaceous and the Tertiary. It is believed to be the strongest orogeny in the Mesozoic era, and its time is comparable to that of the Latin America in Latin America. In order to emphasize its importance, the Alps cycle is further divided into three parts: the Indo-China Movement, the Yanshan Movement and the Sichuan Movement. For more than three decades, this concept has been familiar and widely cited by the general geological community. However, in recent years, some people have alienated it and wrote an article to reject it. It is proposed to repeal this name. As a result, there have been controversial views on the geological community, there has been over-emphasis and completely rejected the controversy in Sichuan. In order to investigate and discuss the objective situation and essence of the movement, this paper presents some superficial understanding of the existence, nature, intensity and tectonic significance of the Sichuan movement based on some actual data in western Yunnan.
