上世纪40年代的一天,美国普林斯顿大学研究院院长办公室的电话响了。秘书拿起电话,对方在那头问道:“请问爱因斯坦院长在吗?”秘书听得很费力,抱歉地答:“他出去了。”对方接着问:“你能不能告诉我,院长住在哪儿?”为了保证爱因斯坦安心从事科研,当时研究院严格规定任何人不准擅自泄露院长的住处,就连总统来,也要事先征得同意。因此,秘书毫不客气地拒绝了。
One day in the 1940s, the phone at the president’s office of the Princeton Institute of Research in the United States rang.
