香港1997年经济发展的状况受到两个重大事件的影响:回归祖国和东南亚金融危机。前者使香港经济在一至三季度获得了蓬勃发展的机遇,后者使香港经济在第四季度急剧下降,至今方走出低谷。
The economic development in Hong Kong in 1997 was affected by two major events: the return to the motherland and the financial crisis in Southeast Asia. The former gave Hong Kong economy a chance of flourishing in the first to third quarters. The latter brought the economy of Hong Kong to plummet in the fourth quarter so far.
