为扩大新闻资源的来源,不少媒体尤其是都市报都成立了热线新闻部。热线新闻部突破“口”的概念,依靠新闻热线,从生活中获取新闻信息。为了增加新闻线索,都市报热线近年来又推出酬金制,将信息的酬金加到百元以上,在北京等媒体竞争激烈的城市甚至高达2000元。一项调查显示,目前新闻媒体原创新闻中,跑口记者占到60%-70%,热线占到30%-40%。热线新闻部记者尚可依靠热线获取新闻线索,《齐鲁晚报》在2001年推出《今日济南》板块,进行社区新闻报道,这些社区记者,一没有“口”,二没有热线,更没有固定的新闻来源,但在3年多的实践中,《今日济南》的社区记者,却突破了对“口”和热线的依赖,
