Distilled water challenge tests were performed on 30 children with remission asthma to determine the amount of distilled water (PD20PEFR) required to reduce the maximum expiratory flow (PEFR) by 20%. The results showed that prior inhalation of furosemide had a significant protective effect on the challenge test, PD20PEFR significantly increased from 8.10 ± 4.23ml to 16.40 ± 5.72ml (P <0.01) No difference. Experiments also show that different routes of administration, there are significant differences. PD20PEFR increased significantly (P <0.01) before inhalation of furosemide, while oral furosemide showed no significant difference, suggesting that inhaled furosemide can be used for the treatment of asthma.
