The study of the effect of power frequency electric field on the body began in the sixties. At that time, the Soviet Union reported that workers who frequently touched the power frequency electric field often had symptoms such as nerve damage, cardiovascular dysfunction and loss of libido, but they did not attract the attention of other countries. At the 1972 International Congress on Power Grids, Korobkova stressed that power frequency electric fields could pose a health hazard to workers and set thresholds for contact electric fields, which led to various controversies. Since then, scholars in many countries conducted extensive research, but did not achieve consistent results. In 1984 twenty-first session of the International Students Congress for the first time held a professional conference of electropathology, eight papers in 6 to discuss the power frequency electromagnetic field
