朱彝尊,字锡鬯,号竹坨,浙江秀水(今嘉兴)人。生于明崇祯二年(1629),家中贫寒,几至断粮,却一直坚持苦读。四处游历,以诗文结交了不少友人。清康熙十八年(1679)举博学鸿词,授检讨,充《明史》纂修。康熙二十年(1681)任日讲起居注官,执掌江南乡试。康熙二十三年(1684),由于私自携仆进入内廷抄录各地所进书籍,被降一级官职。康熙二十九年(1690)恢复原职,过了两年(1692),又因事被革职。此后潜心著述,在经学、诗、文与词等领域,均享盛誉,《清史稿·文苑传》称,“当时王士祯工诗,
