The Wasatch Fault (WFZ) is one of the longest and most active zonal faults in the western United States. It is the main structural component of the main transition zone that separates the basin mountains - in the eastern part of the province from the western Colorado plateau and the central Rocky Mountain. The late Quaternary of the fault zone showed signs of movement in the 343-kilometer section of Fayette, Idaho, from the city of Mallard, Idaho. It is mainly manifested in the glacial facies, lacustrine facies, large-scale fault dikes in the synsedimentary and alluvial deposits, and the smaller-scale fault dykes in Holocene strata developed in the mid-late Pleistocene.
