GO is a 3D printed consumer wheelchair, app and glove system designed to meet the individual needs of people with disabilities and lifestyle. Customized forms of seats and pedals are powered by 3D digital data that maps the user’s biometric information. The resulting wheelchair fits everyone’s body shape, weight and disability. GO was the result of a two-year study that interviewed dozens of wheelchair users and medical professionals to establish how to dispel the stigma associated with wheelchairs as medical devices and create people-centered vehicles. One of the major problems that studios have identified as a wheelchair user during development is the pressure of self-motivation. LayerLAB has developed a GO Glove system to increase the grip between the user’s hand and the push rim.
