大学英语教学的目的是培养学生跨文化交际能力。我国传统英语教学由于忽视对学生跨文化差异意识的培养,导致其跨文化交际能力普遍较低。提高学生跨文化交际能力,则必须重视词汇蕴涵的文化差异,加强课堂教学对文化背景的输入,注意分析和比较中西方文化习俗、价值观念和思维方式等方面的差异。
The purpose of college English teaching is to develop students’ intercultural communication skills. Because of neglecting the awareness of cross-cultural differences among students in traditional English teaching in our country, their cross-cultural communicative competence is generally low. To improve students’ ability of intercultural communication, we must attach great importance to the cultural differences implied by lexicon, strengthen classroom teaching on cultural background, pay attention to analyze and compare the differences between Chinese and Western cultural practices, values and ways of thinking.
