Herpes simplex virus (HSV) causes many human diseases. In recent years, HSV-2 has been found to be related to the occurrence of cervical cancer. Hampar et al. (1961) first discovered that HSV can induce chromosomal aberrations in MCH hamster cells. Subsequently, many authors successively used HSV to induce primary hamster cells, human embryonic lung, Chinese hamster cells, primary monkey kidney cells, BHK-21 cells, human embryo fibroblasts, and human embryo lungs twice in vitro. Chromosomal aberrations in somatic cells, rabbit kidney cells, and human leukocytes. And found that HSV-induced chromosomal aberrations occurred in the early stages of HSV infection, mainly in the A, B, C chromosome long arm sub-terminal and terminal, as well as the centromere and sub-scar. The forms of chromosome and chromatid breakage, cracking and crushing.
