经过几十年来艰苦卓绝的不懈努力,赤峰市的山区沙区生态建设已经取得了初步成效.今后一个时朗,我市山区沙区生态建设的总体想法和奋斗目标是,建设规模再上新台阶、建设质量再创新水平、建设效益再搞新突破.从现在起,我们将保持每年造林135万亩,治沙160万亩的速度,力争到本世纪末.使全市森林覆盖率由现在的21.2%提高到25%,80%的旗县区实现宜林地灭荒;到2010年实现全市宜林地灭荒,使全部沙地得到有效治理.
