We have laid out in detail the experimental evidence showing how these re-gions can be used as part of a binocular visual representation. It is clear that monocular regions are important for form-ing surface representations and for depth perception. Research has shown that information from monocular regions is not simply thrown away by mechanisms dedicated to forming a seamless representation of the world. we attempt to classify monocular regions into three types, with the aim here to provide a structure for describing the various phenom-ena.The studies of monocular region have a certain reference value both for the stereopsis clinical work and funda-mental research.
