文章主要通过分析《新视野英语教程:读写教程I》中的职业状况来探讨高职公共英语教材中的阶层文化,认为该教科书中人物职业分布不合理,职业声望得分较高的职业描述比较详细,且较多正面描述,而职业声望得分较低的职业描述简略,且较多负面描述。该教科书中对人物职业的描述不符合中国社会结构现实,不利于帮助学生树立正确的职业观、改善社会不平等现象。
The article mainly discusses the class culture in the public English teaching materials of higher vocational colleges by analyzing the occupational conditions in “New Horizon English Course: Reading and Writing I”. It is found that the occupation description of characters in this textbook is irrational and the occupational reputation is higher. Detailed, and more positive description, while career prestige lower occupation description is simple, and more negative description. The description of character occupation in this textbook does not accord with the reality of social structure in China, which is not conducive to helping students to establish a correct professional outlook and improve social inequality.
