本文研究《布朗德》在孟加拉国的上演表现。在2004年的首演之后,因其对当代社会和国家政治较强的针对性,而受到观众和评论家的关注。本文认为由于这个国家人民对伊斯兰原教旨主义和极端主义所拥有的直觉知识,观众们可以很容易地把“布朗德”当做是一个穆斯林狂热分子。本文通过叙述最近这个国家一些令人不安的原教旨主义活动情况,指出在过去四年里原教旨主义有了上升的势头,让《布朗德》在如今的孟加拉国成为一个广受关注的对象。
This article studies the performance of “Brand” in Bangladesh. After its debut in 2004, it was watched by viewers and critics because of its strong relevance to contemporary society and state politics. This article argues that because of the people’s intuitive knowledge of Islamic fundamentalism and extremism in this country, viewers can easily view “Brand” as a Muslim fanatics. By describing some of the most disturbing fundamentalist activities in this country in the recent past, the article points out that there has been an upward trend in fundamentalism over the past four years, making “Bronde” a widely watched object in present-day Bangladesh.
