For telecom operators and service providers, it is an indisputable fact to enhance their competitiveness and profitability by implementing value-added services. The basis for launching new value-added services is the convergence of voice and data networks and connectivity Network technology. This is the view of Mr. Xie Cheng, General Manager, Asia Pacific Operations, Intel Communication Products Division, in his keynote address at Intel’s “Next Generation Network Value-Added Services” Symposium. To this end, Xie Cheng proposed two major strategies of Intel Communication Products Division. One is to provide new value-added services in the original network infrastructure and the other is to provide the key equipment needed to build a new generation of networks. For operators and service providers, the traditional transport services will decline, while the proportion of services will be higher and higher.
