目前大学英语教学中所普遍存在的一种倾向是重听、说、读、写,而轻英汉和汉英互译,这是一种误导。这种误导主要源于前一时期对教学方法的纷争,其结果却造成了学生在社会工作中竞争能力和实用能力的欠缺,这种欠缺是极难弥补的。现从基本技能重视的偏颇、教学方法的纷争和翻译在大学英语教学中应起的作用三个方面阐明这一误导,并为翻译正名。 1 基本技能重视的偏颇
At present, a common trend in college English teaching is listening, speaking, reading and writing, while transliteration between light and English and Chinese and English is misleading. This misleading result mainly from the previous period of the dispute on teaching methods, the result has resulted in students in the social work in the lack of competitiveness and practical ability, this deficiency is extremely difficult to make up.
