哈佛大学心理学家教授霍华德·加德纳提出了智能的概念,认为人的智能是多元的,多元智能理论指出每个人都有自己的学习方式,以及自己的优势智力领域,有自己的学习类型和方法。这个理论对今后的教育起到了巨大的指导作用。作为一种新的教育理念,它在英美教学上也受到广泛关注,智能理论要求教育者应该尽可能全面开发每个学生的智能,为其创造多样的展现智能的情境,让每位学生都能发挥出个人的内在潜能,展现自己的个性。虽然部分教师已关注到了多元智能理论,但是多元智能理论在英美文学教学中的实际应用并不多见,本文对现今英美文学教学中存在的问题进行简要的分析和思考,用多元智能理论解决目前英美文学教学中的问题和难点,聚焦如何利用基于多元智能理论的英美文学教学方式来提高学生的综合能力,并找出相应的应对措施。
