RV“海神”号三体试验舰是为满足英国皇家海军“未来水面战舰(FSC)要求而研制的一艘技术演示舰。“未来水面战舰”计划从2013年开始服役,并替换目前现役的23型“公爵”级导弹护卫舰。作为英国皇家海军现阶段重要的研究项目之一,“海神”号试验舰将持续进行长达数年的海上航行试验,旨在验证和确定三体舰舰体结构的适用性和抗风浪能力,为今后“未来水面战舰”是否采用三体舰结构提供决策依据。
