全国卫生工作会议指出:“医疗机构要‘以病人为中心’。”海南省人民医院结合本院工作实际,以创建“全国百佳医院”活动为契机,确立了质量建院、人才立院、科技兴院的战略思想,深化改革,积极进行“以病人为中心”的实践活动,调整工作着力点,更新思想观念,转变医护模式,以医疗质量为核心,以强化管理为手段,不断加强内涵建设,两个文明并举共兴。1998年被省委省政府授予“省级文明单位”称号,并被国家卫生部评为“全国百佳医院”。
