A recent public statement by the British Refrigeration Association (BRA) in a document issued by the Labor Party for its commitment to pursuing a policy to halt the production and use of HCFC refrigerants early next century disagrees with the BRA saying that unless a better alternative refrigerant is found, Otherwise, it will not support the cessation of production and use of HCFC_s (especially R22) by 2030 and any decision to stop production and use of R22 earlier is not scientifically based. As R22 helps to reduce the damage to the ozone layer, the industry represented by BRA will work to promote the replacement of CFC_s with R22
