西藏作为地球之巅的青藏高原主体,是最晚从古海中崛起而最后成为世界高极,这对于人类发祥的起源和人类文明发展的影响,都有着大量的迄今未能解读的谜,直至1983年西藏考古还“几乎完全空白”(中国考古学界泰斗夏鼎语)。但是从1984年以来,在全国有关领导部门的关心下和考古学界的大力支持下,西藏文物普查事业和考古文化,有如喜玛拉雅造山运动一样悠然崛起,近10年来不断有重大的新发现:
As the main body of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau at the top of the earth, Tibet emerged at the latest from the ancient sea and finally became the world’s highest pole. This has a great deal of mystery that has so far failed to be interpreted until the birth of humanity and the development of human civilization. Archeology in Tibet also “almost completely empty” (Chinese archeology Xiaodian Xiaoting). However, since 1984, thanks to the concern of the relevant government departments and the vigorous support of the archaeological community, the Tibetan cultural relics clues and archeology have risen leisurely like the Himalayan orogeny. Over the past 10 years, there have been major new discoveries :
