中国人民解放军第四军医大学是一所为军队培养高、中层次医学专门人才的全国重点大学。学校1954年由原第四军医大学和原第五军医大学合并而成。原第四军医大学的前身是创建于1941年的八路军晋西北军区卫生学校,原第五军医大学的前身是创建于1935年的国立中央大学医学院。学校于1959年被确定为全国首批重点大学,1995年进入军队重点建设院校行列,1997年成为国家首批“211工程”重点建设院校。
The Fourth Military Medical University of Chinese People’s Liberation Army is a national key university that nurtures high and middle-level specialized medical professionals in the military. The school was merged by the former Fourth Military Medical University and the Fifth Military Medical University in 1954. Former Fourth Military Medical University, formerly known as the Eighth Route Army Jinxi North Military Region Health School, founded in 1941, formerly the Fifth Military Medical University was founded in 1935, the National Central University School of Medicine. The school was identified as one of the first batch of key universities in China in 1959, and entered the ranks of key military construction universities in 1995. In 1997, it became the first “211 Project” key construction institution in the country.
