In the January 1979 issue of “Oil Technology”, Professor Thomas Gold of Cornell University in the United States reintroduced the origin of the natural gas source. He studied the proposition that in the history of the earth, methane was continuously degassed from the earth and formed most of the methane found in the earth’s crust.
